10th Liquid Biopsy for Precision Oncology 2026

Our Executive Director, Lauren Leiman, will participate in Hanson Wade’s 10th Annual Liquid Biopsy for Precision Oncology Summit in San Diego, CA, on February 4, 2026. This meeting brings together stakeholders from across research, clinical care, industry, and policy to discuss the evolving role of liquid biopsy in precision oncology and the path toward broader clinical adoption.

At 11:30 AM, Lauren will deliver a presentation titled “Breaking Down Standardization Barriers Through Consistent Terminology & Metrics to Boost Liquid Biopsy Adoption.” Her presentation will examine persistent challenges that continue to hinder standardization across liquid biopsy platforms, assays, and reporting. Key topics will include the need for shared definitions, thresholds, and response criteria to help align a fragmented field, as well as the development of a practical roadmap for standardization. This roadmap will focus on actionable milestones and measurable outcomes that can be used to track progress, build confidence, and support wider adoption of liquid biopsy technologies.

Later in the day, at 12:30 PM, Lauren will participate in a panel discussion titled “Bridging the Gap from Innovation to Access by Aligning Standardization, Policy & Reimbursement for Liquid Biopsy.” The panel will explore how inconsistent definitions, metrics, and data standards can undermine payer confidence and limit policy support for liquid biopsy. Panelists will also discuss the role of pre-competitive collaboration in advancing standardization efforts, with the goal of enabling broader reimbursement and clinical adoption. In addition, the discussion will highlight near-term policy actions and evidence needs required to better align stakeholders and accelerate patient access to applications such as serial testing and early cancer detection.

The panel will feature:

  • Lauren Leiman, Executive Director, BLOODPAC

  • Hadly Clark, Director, Faster Cures – Milken Institute

  • Anthony Chi, Medical Director, Kaiser Permanente

  • Amrita Pati, Executive Director, Computational Biology, Precision Medicine, Amgen
